Data Set Core: Range Card Information Range cards are only present in Wave 1, and were one method for getting more specific information from respondents who did not know exact dollar values, particularly of assets and income. Their use was preferred by some interviewers over use of the bracketing questions also available to them. The range card values are found in the Coding and Editing Instructions (file CODING.TXT in INSTRUCT.EXE). That section is copied below.
