Abstract

This brief examines the common characteristics among people who took money from their accounts, and those who left their accounts untouched, during the 2014-16 time period. The research uses data from the University of Michigan’s Health and Retirement Study (HRS), a nationally representative survey that follows workers and retirees ages 50 and over.
