Health-related work limitations and experiences with work-related disability benefit programs

This user’s guide presents details about questions related to disability and work in Section M of the core Health and Retirement Study (HRS), with a focus on changes that were made to the question sequence in 2022. The guide provides some historical information about changes to key concepts in the section in earlier waves, contains a concordance between the 2020 and 2022 sequence, and identifies some additional enhancements that will be made in future waves to build off the 2022 revisions.
