Abstract

The introduction of quasi-likelihood may be considered as a major breakthrough in modeling the data of different types without making assumption on the underlying distribution. For estimation based on the quasi-likelihood approaches, the knowledge about means and variance as a function of mean are the necessary inputs for developing a model and estimation become very flexible. This chapter discusses the application of quasi-likelihood approaches to both discrete and continuous outcomes.
