Abstract

Congestive heart failure (CHF) develops when cardiac pumping capacity is insufficient to meet tissue perfusion
demands. Poor eyesight has been associated with heart failure, but the epidemiologic relationship and possible
explanatory factors remain uncertain. This study examined the association between eyesight status and CHF using
data from the Health and Retirement Study (HRS) database.
