Abstract

This paper presents models of asset management by the elderly. The model links elderly decisions about saving, spend-down of assets, and gift-giving in a system of equations. Findings about the interactions of these variables are presented. The paper also studies the evoluation of elderly health and the impact of economic variables on health outcomes.
