Jody Schimmel Hyde

Jody Schimmel Hyde’s research focuses on the economic self-sufficiency and independence of people with disabilities across the life course, with a particular interest in the onset of disabling conditions in the years just before retirement. Much of her work at Mathematica is done under contract from the Social Security Administration, with a focus on eligibility for, application to, and receipt of federal disability benefits. She is an expert in SSA administrative data to understand disability program participation and work activity among disability beneficiaries.
