Import Procedures

  1. You may request import of statistical code and non-HRS public datasets required for your analysis in the enclave. Any external data must be included in the approved research plan under the “Requires Data Import” section. To add external data to your research plan after initial approval, submit an Update a project research plan or IRB review modification.

  2. You may request import of restricted datasets required for your analysis with permission of your data supplier. For restricted datasets, you must provide the data use agreement indicating approval of merge with HRS data and storage in the enclave.

  3. You may request the import of other supporting documents. You must include a description of the file and justification of need.

  4. All materials proposed for import are subject to review.

    • MiCDA enclave users should submit requests via the MiCDA disclosure review process (see below).
    • LINKAGE users should submit requests via the LINKAGE disclosure review process.
    • The review procedure will be completed within 5 business days, if possible.

The following steps apply only to MiCDA Enclave users

  1. Users should place the file(s) for review in a folder labeled “Import-MM-DD-YYY” in their SFTP space.

  2. Submit the Disclosure Review Request Form. You must have SFTP access to the MiCDA Enclave to access this form.

  3. The reviewers vet the import file(s) and import the requested files to the user’s destination folder.

  4. Once the process is complete, the researcher will receive a response via email.

  5. File(s) will be available at next login.
